A line of restructured handbags and footwear for the modern woman with a love of essential, storytelling pieces

Inspired by the street and gallery pieces of Evan Roth, Geso, and Krink, as well as spaces and furniture pieces by architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Arne Jacobson, this collection looks at street writing through a mid century modern lens.

The designer, Elise Glueck, treats each product as a piece of modern architecture through the patterning and making process. A talented fibers artist, Anna Whittemore, attempts, with a creative eye, to ‘graffiti’ her own designs, curated by the designer, on the surface of each product emulating that of the inspiring artists.

Through use of embroidery, beading, UV printing, digital printing, shaving, engraving and ceramics, Anna and Elise look to explore the motif of street writing through a modern eye.

The Backpack

A sleek, monochromatic backpack combined with a functional portfolio tote, for the creative professional on the go. On this Portfolio pack, Anna Whittemore has developed a “topographical doodle,” an original line work illustration. Using a flatbed UV printer to print the line work in white on the white leather, the sense of touch is the most important aspect of this graffiti technique. Ceramic handles, designed and made by Elise Glueck, elevate the piece to add a more luxurious tone.

The Duffle

Made as a conversation piece with utility and form in mind, the Duffle is for the working woman with places to go and people to see. Hand engraved panels by Anna Whittemore reveal the intricacies of light and shadow while bringing a sense of elevated playfulness to the complex design. A ceramic bar calls back to mid-century modern design and aesthetics.

The MiniTote

A plush, earthtone tote bag infused with a variety of textures for the eccentric fashionista. Elise Glueck incorporates shadow play with light reflection on this product by beading transparent seed beads into shaved shearling to evoke an ethereal sparkle within a deep shadow. The sense of touch is the necessary to feel the beads in this graffiti technique.

The Slide

An everyday “wow” factor, the Slide is designed and made with comfort, style, and simplicity in mind. Elegant design lines combined with playful shearling add a hint of sophisticated spunk to a daily look, calling to mind both the playful nature of street writing and the contemplative design work of mid century modern design.. Though all designs are handcrafted by Elise, it is exceptionally important to note this footwear is made with the utmost care and consideration by the hands of the designer herself.

The ToteBrief

An updated briefcase for the modern woman with a love of handmade, storytelling pieces. Embroidery by Anna Whittemore invokes the sense of a vandalized wall with an ever-so-subtle monochromatic palette. The utilitarian design of the ToteBrief allows for easy access to cards, keys, pens, laptops, and tablets for the modern businesswoman. Ceramic handles, designed and made by Elise Glueck, elevate the piece to add a more luxurious tone.

The SlingBack

Bringing spunk to any look, the SlingBack is a lighthearted statement shoe for the high-spirited woman. Careful geometry balances oversized surface embellishments, channeling the playful art of design. Hand painting line work by Anna Whittemore enhances the silhouette and adds a sense of character to the pair. Though all designs are handcrafted by Elise, it is exceptionally important to note this footwear is made with the utmost care and consideration by the hands of the designer herself.
